The Eagle Ford Shale From Space

Below is a photo of South Texas at night,  taken by a NOAA weather satellite on Dec 11, 2012. Here you can clearly see the area where the Eagle Ford Shale is being developed, (as seen from space at night.)  I superimposed a map from the Texas RRC, (which shows the location of existing and permitted wells,) on top of the satellite photo.  The band of light seen in the satellite image corresponds perfectly to the area of the Eagle Ford Shale where the most drilling activity is currently occurring. Man made light emanating from drilling rigs, man camps, natural gas flares, gas plants and other activity can now be seen from space, further illustrating the magnitude of this incredible oil and gas discovery.
