Map Of The Eagle Ford Shale Oil and Gas Areas
The following Eagle Ford shale map shows the different zones which are known to contain more oil, gas or condensate than others. Generally the northern part of the Eagle Ford contains more oil, while the central part is rich in gas and gas condensate. At the formation dips down toward 15,000 at the edge of the Stuart City Reef the production is high pressure natural gas.
The following map is from Petrohawk Resources:
The so called “Oil Window” runs in the upper edge of the Eagle Ford shale and is already proving to make some very good wells in the Red Hawk field of Zavala county, owned by Petrohawk energy. New wells in the Red Hawk field will be brought online this year.
Here is another Eagle FordĀ map from Crismon Exploration showing the Eagle Ford shale oil, condensate and gas windows.
Note: You may find the name of this shale play listed as Eagleford in this blog. This is so search engines can find those pages since it is a common misspelling. The correct spelling, as confirmed by the Texas Railroad Commission, the agency that governs oil and gas fields in Texas, is Eagle Ford shale.
